Photo by Jordan Whitt on Unsplash Hello and Happy April :) This is the time of year when it’s impossible to know how to get dressed in the morning - at least in Portland. If you dress warm, it will invariably be too hot. If you didn’t bring a rain jacket, it will definitely pour. My newsletter is a little late this month. For any of those awaiting with baited breath, I’m sorry. It’s been a whirlwind last few weeks that involved a last minute flight to England, sitting by the side of my best friend fighting cancer, and losing her the day before I was due to fly back. That’s a lot to process, right? Grief is a funny thing. It leaves you feeling guilty when you are “fine”. Doing things like listening to the same songs over and over with no interest in other artists. Laying on the living room floor deciding that it’s a good place to hang out and shed a few tears. Laughing at the many amazing memories and then crying that there won’t be any more. It’s a roller coaster. It will take time. And it’s been so good for me to say “no” to things the last few weeks that I normally say yes to. I wrote Gina a tribute here. I kept coming back to it and making it longer, but it still barely captures 13 years of friendship I had with her. Without a doubt I could write and write about this topic, and this won’t be the last mentioned of it by any means. I do have other news to share. A happy life update is that I got to spend the weekend with my in-laws in the fresh air at their beautiful home in Ashland. We brought Baci along to meet the three other doodles that live here and it has been so special to see him learn how to socialize and play in a pack. It’s good for the soul to see such a sweet sight of your pup! I’m also excited to share that my goal over the next few months is to put more time and energy into this brand I’m creating. You’ll be seeing some new things in upcoming newsletters, some changes to my website, some things that sound scary to me right now but are all in the spirit of GROWTH. And of course some asks for my lovely readers to share away with anyone they think would appreciate the words I’m writing things I’m sharing. Enjoy this season of awakening, creativity, new life, blooming nature, and opportunity!
